Abstract

Abstract: This article examines the theoretical foundations of monological discourse and its role in literary texts. The study analyzes the concept of discourse in modern linguistics, the relationship between monologue and dialogue, and the pragmatic, psycholinguistic features of monological discourse. Particular attention is given to the role of monological discourse in revealing the psychological state and inner world of literary characters. The article also discusses classifications of monological discourse and reviews the contributions of prominent scholars in discourse studies. The findings demonstrate that monological discourse functions as a complex communicative and psychological phenomenon that plays a significant role in artistic narration and characterization.
