Abstract

Abstract: The rapid development of information technologies and digital communication has significantly influenced the lexical composition of modern languages. One of the most dynamic areas of lexical expansion is cybersport (e-sports), which has become a global phenomenon affecting language, culture, education, and communication. The Uzbek language, like many other languages, has experienced an active influx of cybersport-related terminology originating mainly from English. This study investigates the linguistic features of cybersport terminology in the Uzbek language, focusing on lexical borrowing, semantic adaptation, word formation processes, and functional characteristics. The research employs descriptive, comparative, and linguistic analysis methods to examine the integration of cybersport terms into contemporary Uzbek. The findings reveal that English remains the primary source of cybersport vocabulary, while Uzbek speakers actively adapt borrowed terms through phonetic, morphological, and semantic transformations. The study contributes to understanding modern lexical development in Uzbek and highlights the role of digital culture in shaping contemporary terminology.
