ANTHROPOCENTRIC FEATURES OF TOPONYMS IN UZBEK AND ENGLISH LINGUISTIC TRADITIONS

Abstract
Abstract: This article examines the anthropocentric characteristics of toponyms in Uzbek and English linguistic traditions from a comparative linguocultural perspective. The research explores how place names reflect human perception, cultural memory, ethnic identity, social values, and historical experience. The study focuses on the semantic and cognitive nature of toponyms and analyzes their role as linguistic units connected with human-centered worldviews. Special attention is given to the relationship between language, culture, and national consciousness in the formation of geographical names. The research applies comparative, descriptive, semantic, and linguocultural methods to identify common and distinctive anthropocentric features in Uzbek and English toponymic systems.
