Abstract
This study explores the role of metaphor in English and Uzbek languages,
analyzing its cognitive, cultural, and linguistic significance. Metaphors are essential
in shaping human thought and communication, reflecting cultural perceptions and influencing
language development. The paper examines conceptual metaphors, their classifications,
and their usage in both languages, providing comparative examples to illustrate similarities
and differences. The study highlights the impact of metaphor in literature, everyday speech,
and language learning, emphasizing its function as a cognitive tool that bridges cultural
understanding and linguistic expression.
