Abstract

This paper explores the pedagogical advantages of integrating games into English for General Purposes (EGP) education. It highlights how game-based learning strategies can enhance student motivation, improve language retention, and foster communication skills in a more engaging and interactive classroom environment. Drawing on both theoretical perspectives and practical examples, the paper demonstrates how games can support the development of vocabulary, grammar, and speaking fluency while also promoting collaboration and critical thinking. The findings suggest that when thoughtfully implemented, games serve as an effective tool to enrich the EGP learning experience and make language acquisition more meaningful and enjoyable for students.
