Abstract

   In the modern globalized world, English for Specific Purposes (ESP) has become an essential field within language education, catering to learners in professional domains such as tourism, business, engineering, and healthcare. A critical component of successful ESP instruction is the development of professional communicative competence, which encompasses the skills necessary to use language appropriately in professional and occupational contexts. This article investigates the theoretical foundations and pedagogical implications of integrating professional communicative competence into ESP curricula. It also highlights practical classroom strategies, provides examples across different disciplines, and addresses common challenges faced by educators. The findings emphasize that fostering professional communicative competence enhances learners' workplace readiness and intercultural communication, ultimately making ESP education more effective and relevant.
