RELIABILITY OF NEW ACCELERATION MAGNETOELASTIC TRANSDUCERS
Abstract
The article establishes that, since the cantilever of the new magnetoelastic acceleration transducer simultaneously serves as a magnetic circuit, then in addition to mechanical fatigue, one must also take into account magnetic aging, residual magnetization, changes in hysteresis parameters, eddy-current heating, and changes in magnetic permeability under the influence of temperature. If the composition of the ferromagnetic material, its heat treatment, and the internal stresses remaining after machining are not stable, the output signal at the same acceleration may change over time. Functional or parametric failures of the adjustable resistor in the excitation winding of the new transducer arise from circuit breaks, a sharp increase in moving-contact resistance, contact chatter, short circuits, drift of the resistor's resistance under the influence of temperature and time, and displacement of the adjusting element due to vibration. The results of the reliability study of the new transducer showed that its probability of failure-free operation over is . In this case, the windings of the new transducer are the elements with the highest probability of failure.
