Abstract

Abstract This article examines the semantic potential of symbols in linguistic discourse, focusing on their capacity to convey explicit and implicit meanings within different communicative contexts. Symbols represent an important component of linguistic and cultural communication, as their interpretation extends beyond literal meaning and involves contextual, pragmatic, and cultural dimensions. The study explores the relationship between symbolic meaning, context, interpretation, and discourse, drawing on fundamental principles of semiotics and linguistics. Particular attention is paid to the role of conventional associations, cultural knowledge, and contextual factors in the actualization of symbolic meaning. The analysis demonstrates that symbols possess a dynamic semantic potential that enables them to express complex concepts, evoke cultural associations, and contribute to the construction of meaning in discourse. The article argues that the interpretation of symbols requires an integrated approach that considers both their conventional semantic content and their contextual realization.
