ANALYSIS OF VEHICLE CHASSIS SYSTEMS AND THEIR ADVANTAGES AND DISADVANTAGES

Abstract
Abstract. This article examines the structural characteristics of vehicle chassis systems, their operational principles, and the advantages and disadvantages of different chassis configurations. The chassis is one of the most important vehicle systems responsible for stability, controllability, ride comfort, and traffic safety. The study analyzes the functions of suspension systems, axles, wheels, shock absorbers, springs, and steering-related components. Particular attention is given to dependent, independent, semi-independent, pneumatic, and active suspension systems widely used in modern vehicles. The research demonstrates that each chassis design has specific advantages and limitations depending on vehicle purpose, operating conditions, maintenance requirements, and economic factors. The results can contribute to improving vehicle performance, reliability, and maintenance efficiency.
